Periodontal Disease
is second ONLY
to the common cold!
Dental diseases, such as cavities and gum disease, are the most
common
diseases affecting people besides the common cold.
Brushing and flossing may
not be enough. 75% of the population
has some form of Periodontal Disease, but
the majority do not
realize it.
Can’t you just clean my teeth?
Periodontal Disease is a serious infection. Evidence now links
gum disease to a
variety of health concerns including heart
disease, stroke, diabetes and other degenerative diseases that
are life threatening. It’s not just about your teeth
anymore!
Early detection as with other diseases is the key to successful
treatment. Your
dental professional will routinely perform a gum
disease screening exam. If you
have periodontal disease, your
treatment will be personalized for you and your l
evel of
infection. A routine cleaning is not enough by itself to treat
periodontal
disease.
Soft Tissue Management Treatment Program
The treatment (root planning and scaling) consists of
professional in-office care
that detoxifies the tooth surfaces
below the gum line and in between the teeth.
Then medicine will
be used to flush out the bacteria that caused this infection.
You will need to increase your hygiene visits from two to maybe
three or four times
per year to maintain the health achieved
through your STM® Treatment Program. Without careful on-going
monitoring and treatment, periodontal disease can recur.
Your
daily care and professional maintenance visits are a commitment
to better
health. Periodontal disease can be controlled!
ViziLite Plus — New Oral Cancer Screening Test
It improves the ability to identify suspicious areas at their earliest stages.
One American dies every hour from oral cancer. Dr. Lee recommends a simple, potentially life-saving screening exam. Normal Oral Cancer examinations allow diagnosis of oral cancer at Stage III or Stage IV. This easy and painless exam gives us the best chance to identify any oral abnormalities at Stage I or Stage II. Oral cancer is one of the most curable diseases when it’s caught early.
Better screening saves our lives.
