What is CEREC?
CEREC is an acronym
for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics.

The restoration is more natural
looking. It’s made of tooth-colored ceramic material, free of
metal! The ceramic
material is compatible with tissue in your mouth and is
high-grade, anti-abrasive
and plaque-resistant, and allows us to be extremely precise and
conservative in
a way not previously possible. CEREC strengthens the tooth and
lasts as long as
a gold filling.

How
does CEREC work? |
First, the damaged
tooth is prepared. We then apply a thin layer of reflective
powder directly on the tooth’s surface. Then, using a special
camera we take a
picture of the tooth, which is actually a pin-sharp optical
impression of the tooth.

restoration from the
optical impression on a computer monitor right before your eyes! |
Two high-speed
diamond burrs work simultaneously to mil the restoration from a
solid block of ceramic material. Finally, we bond the newly
milled restoration
to the tooth using the state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.
